Senior Psychologist Managing Director

 

Julie-Anne Davies is the Managing Director of both Mandurah Psychological Services and Bunbury Psychological Services. Primarily, Julie-Anne comes from a Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) background although for those clients not well suited to CBT she uses an eclectic responsive approach to meet her client’s capacity, spiritual, cultural and religious beliefs ‘considering the clients worldview and life’s experiences.

Seniors

The last five years Julie-Anne has been instrumental in the development of a training package for aged care staff in the handling of sexuality and intimacy training for residents in age care facilities. She is also skilled in assisting individuals coming to terms with life transitions, such as retirement, illness, loss and grief.

Critical Incident Response and Post Trauma Response

Julie-Anne is an experienced Critical Incident on site counsellor and has significant experience in providing post trauma support and PTSD therapy. She has worked with a variety of clients from First responder agencies such as St Johns Ambulance, Police and Fire officers. She also provides PTSD psychological counselling and therapy for Vietnam Veterans and Motor Vehicle.

Experience:

Julie-Anne has been in private practice since 2006 in the Kimberley, Mandurah and Bunbury regions. Julie-Anne’s career in psychology commenced over 20 years ago with Department of Justice as a Victim Offender Mediation officer, then a Community Corrections Officer, Prison Psychologist, and finally as a Senior rehabilitation officer facilitation group therapy situated in Regional Prisons and many remote locations in the Kimberley.
